A Beginner’s Guide To TWICE: Fun Facts About Each Of The Members Any ONCE Should Know
On November 12, TWICE is set to release their third full-length studio album, Formula of Love: O+T=<3! They also just recently came out with their first original English single, “The Feels”, so they’ve been getting a lot of well-earned attention and publicity lately. If you’re a new fan of the group, or even if you’re a longer-term ONCE, here is a list of interesting facts about each member of TWICE that any fan should know!
1. Nayeon
Born on September 22, 1995 (making her a Virgo), Nayeon (full name Im Nayeon) is 26 years old and the lead vocalist, lead dancer, and center of TWICE! She’s 164cm (or 5’5″) tall, her blood type is A, and her MBTI type is ESFP.
She’s one of two members that has a younger sister, whose name is Seoyeon. While not a lot is known about her, she graduated in 2017 and Nayeon attended the ceremony. She’s also three years younger than Nayeon!
Nayeon was first cast by JYP Entertainment when she won a modeling contest as a child, and though her mom didn’t let her join at the time, she auditioned again 10 years later in 2010 and passed! Her representative color is sky blue, she’s very close to BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo and Jennie, and her ideal type is “Someone trustworthy and dependable; someone who can take care of me well; someone who can handle technology well”.
2. Jeongyeon
Born on November 1, 1996 (making her a Scorpio) in Suwon, Jeongyeon (full name Yoo Jeongyeon) is 25 years old and the lead vocalist of TWICE! She’s 169cm (or 5’7″) tall, her blood type is O, and her MBTI type is ISFJ.
She has two older sisters, and talent must run in their family, because her eldest sister, Gong Seung Yeon, is actually a famous actress! Seung Yeon actually trained under SM Entertainment for 7 years after she won a “Best Looks” contest in 2005. However, she ended up leaving the company in 2012 after losing interest in singing. Her other older sister, whose name is Seoyeon, doesn’t have a career in the entertainment business.
Jeongyeon actually failed her first audition with JYP Entertainment when she was young, but she later passed in 2010 (and was even accepted by SM Entertainment as well, though she declined their offer). Her representative color is yellow-green, she was in second place in the anonymous vote for TWICE’s leader, and her ideal type is “Someone who makes me feel comfortable; someone funny who can amuse me”.
3. Momo
Born on November 9, 1996 (making her a Scorpio) in Kyoto, Japan, Momo (full name Hirai Momo) is 25 years old and the main dancer and rapper of TWICE! She’s 167cm (or 5’6″) tall, her blood type is A, and her MBTI type is INFP.
Momo has arguably one of the most well-known siblings among TWICE’s members: Her older sister, Hana! She’s two years older than Momo, but the two of them are extremely close, and they both auditioned for JYP Entertainment. Unfortunately, even though both of them are talented dancers, only Momo passed them. However, Hana is a successful and popular dancer in her own right in Japan!
She was scouted by JYP Entertainment when the company found a video of her and Hana dancing, and she passed the audition in 2012. Her representative color is pink, she began taking dance lessons when she was 3 years old, and her ideal type is “Someone who eats well; someone who loves jokbal“.
4. Sana
Born on December 29, 1996 (making her a Capricorn) in Osaka, Japan, Sana (full name Minatozaki Sana) is 24 years old and the a vocalist of TWICE! She’s 168cm (or 5’6″) tall, her blood type is B, and her MBTI type is ENFP.
Sana is actually the only member of TWICE that’s an only child!
Sana was cast by JYP Entertainment when she was shopping with her friends, and passed the audition stage in 2012. Her representative color is purple, she is close with (G)I-DLE‘s Miyeon, and her ideal type is “Someone who treats his parents well; someone who works hard in his career; someone professional”.
5. Jihyo
Born on February 1, 1997 (making her an Aquarius) in Gyeonggi-do, Jihyo (full name Park Jihyo) is 24 years old and the leader and main vocalist of TWICE! She’s 162cm (or 5’4″) tall, her blood type is O, and her MBTI type is ISFP.
Jihyo has two younger sisters in her family! Their names are Seoyeon and Jiyoung, and while not a lot is known about them, they’re said to be very close and very supportive of Jihyo’s career. She also surprised their classmates by attending Seoyeon’s graduation!
She became a trainee at JYP Entertainment when she was only in the third grade, and trained for ten years before debuting! Her representative color apricot, she’s ambidextrous, and her ideal type is “Someone who I can show my true self to; someone I can be most comfortable with”.
6. Mina
Born on March 24, 1997 (making her an Aries) in San Antonio, Texas, Mina (full name Myoui Mina) is 24 years old and the lead dancer and vocalist of TWICE! She’s 163cm (or 5’4″) tall, her blood type is A, and her MBTI type is ISFP.
Mina has an older brother named Kai! When photos of him emerged a couple years ago, they went fairly viral due to their differences in appearance, with Mina small and petite and Kai very strong and rugged-looking. Fans think he might be a sweetheart, though, due to his cute smile!
Mina was another member that was cast by the company when she was shopping, and she joined the trainee program in 2014 (giving her the shortest training period of TWICE’s members). Her representative color is mint, she learned ballet for 11 years, and her ideal type is “Someone who is kind, well-mannered, and playful; someone who can lead me; someone decisive”.
7. Dahyun
Born on May 28, 1998 (making her a Gemini) in Gyeonggi-do, Dahyun (full name Kim Dahyun) is 23 years old and the lead rapper and vocalist of TWICE! She’s 165cm (or 5’5″) tall, her blood type is O, and her MBTI type is ESFJ.
Like Mina, Dahyun also has an older brother. His name is Myungsoo, and though he seems to keep a relatively low profile, he did appear on an episode of Real Men with Dahyun, where the two showed off their cute and playful relationship.
She was scouted by JYP Entertainment when she made a solo performance at a youth festival when she was in middle school, and passed her audition in 2012 (she was also accepted by SM Entertainment and YG Entertainment, but turned their offers down). Her representative color is white, her favorite drink is chocolate milk, and her ideal type is “Someone who’s dependable like a father; someone nice to his parents; someone who loves me a lot”.
8. Chaeyoung
Born on April 23, 1999 (making her a Taurus) in Seoul, Chaeyoung (full name Son Chaeyoung) is 22 years old and the main rapper and vocalist of TWICE! She’s 161cm (or 5’3″) tall, her blood type is B, and her MBTI type is INFP.
Chaeyoung is the only member of TWICE that has a younger brother! His name is Jeonghun, and the two siblings seem to share a close bond, with Chaeyoung attending her brother’s graduation ceremony, and him attending TWICELAND to support her as well. He’s also an aspiring model!
Chaeyoung auditioned for and passed the JYP Entertainment auditions in 2012. Her representative color is red, she’s close with BLACKPINK’s Rosé, and her ideal type is “Someone who takes care of me well; someone who loves me a lot; someone who dresses well”.
9. Tzuyu
Born on June 14, 1999 (making her a Gemini) in Tainan, Taiwan, Tzuyu (full name Chou Tzuyu) is 22 years old and the lead dancer, vocalist, visual, and maknae of TWICE! She’s 170cm (or 5’7″) tall, her blood type is A, and her MBTI type is ISFP.
Tzuyu also has an older brother. Not even his name is known, as he seems to want to keep his life private, and though the two were supposed to be on the show We Are Siblings back in 2016, they decided against it.
