The cast recently held a press conference where the cast and those involved in creating the show answered questions about the K-Drama. As expected, Jisoo and Jung Hae In looked flawless, and netizens couldn’t get enough of their visuals.

However, as much as fans love to praise Jisoo for her visuals, despite this being her first role, it seems as if she was destined to play Young Ro.

During the press conference, the director Jo Hyu Tak explained that he wasn’t really planning to cast any rookie actresses in the show. He also added that it had been initially tough to pick someone to play Young Ro.

Initially, I had no thoughts of casting a rookie actress. It was hard to imagine Young Ro’s character in real life. I didn’t know who would be suitable for the role.

Hyu Tak then added that his thought was that the actor would come to complete the character, which is why he didn’t plan to cast someone without experience. Yet, something changed when he saw Jisoo audition, and he explained that it was Jisoo alone that earned her the part.

But, as soon as I saw Jisoo’s audition, I knew, ‘Yes… This is Young Ro.’ It was decided in a flash, and we need to work on this immediately.

After seeing her audition, Jo Hyu Tak explained that it had to be Jisoo from that moment, and he even recalled what he said to Jisoo after making the decision.

I don’t know if Jisoo remembers, but I told her, ‘You have to do this no matter what, immediately.’ I threatened her to tell her company that she wants to do this.

For many BLINKs, the director’s words were amazing to hear, as many had assumed Jisoo had got the part because of her status as a BLACKPINK member.

However, it isn’t hard to believe that Jisoo is fully capable of this role. JTBC has been releasing teasers from the series ahead of the show’s premiere.
