Here Is Why NCT’s Johnny Felt Extra Nervous About Walking The Red Carpet At The 2022 Met Gala

Johnny doesn’t get nervous, but this was a huge moment for him.

NCT‘s Johnny does not normally get nervous about walking the red carpet. But walking on the red carpet at the 2022 Met Gala is a different matter, and Johnny couldn’t help being nervous this time around.

In an interview with Teen Vogue he revealed that, compared to other times he’s walked the red carpet, this is the first time he’s been really nervous. Since this is the biggest solo activity he’s ever carried out, it’s completely understandable!

But according to Johnny, one of the reasons why he felt particularly apprehensive was because his team wasn’t allowed to go inside. Not only that, but there was a lot going on that day, and that felt somewhat overwhelming.

I have been on many red carpets. I think this was the first time that I was really nervous because I didn’t know what was going to happen in there. I heard that my team couldn’t come inside, so that got me really worried. And there were a lot of people I’ve never met before that I really have wanted to meet. It was just so many new things at once. That’s what made it kind of nerve-racking.

At the end of the day, however, he had a good time. After all, Johnny is somewhat of a social butterfly

There were a lot of people there to help me. I had wonderful people standing with me in line and everybody was really sweet. It wasn’t really hard to have a conversation with anybody.

NCTzens even feel like Johnny seems like one of the most approachable people ever.

But that didn’t make the wait any shorter. Johnny may have made plenty of friends, but he was definitely happy when the wait was finally over and he got to go on the red carpet.

By the time I was on the red carpet, it was just like, “Finally it’s my turn.” There’s a very long line and we were standing in the line for about 40 minutes. I was just like, “Finally I could get on. I just want to go inside now,” but I tried not to show [it]. [I] just tried to look cool.

It’s safe to say he succeeded in looking cool as he effortlessly pulled off the sleek black satin suit designed by Peter Do. In fact, it’s impossible to tell he was nervous at all! As NCT’s fashion icon, Johnny easily looks like he belongs there.

While the red carpet at the Met Gala is definitely a situation to get nervous about, Johnny handled it like the charismatic pro that he is. NCTzens will remember this moment in NCT history for a long time!
