Korean netizens reacted to the news, furious over the short prison sentence. On Twitter, netizens expressed their disbelief that Seungri will be serving only 18 months for his nine convictions, including soliciting prostitution, and habitual gambling.

Now the whole world can see how trash Korea’s justice system is LOL. Wow, I am so embarrassed LOL.

Stop your BS you f@*kers. You’re basically telling his old fans to k*ll him in a year and a half, right? Ok, message received.

—Netizen

This is another example of how great the ‘Power of Money’ is. Prosecution reform? How about reforming the whole justice system … tsk [sic].

—Netizen

I knew these perverted judges weren’t going to do anything.

—Netizen

What, I didn’t know they were still on trial. Sheesh, I thought he was living out his sentence.

—Netizen

How short… he must have stolen a packet of ramen.

—Netizen

Just… a year-and-a-half??? Does this make sense…[sic]

—Netizen

BIGBANG Seungri, stop giving Gwangju residents a bad name and just go to jail.

—Netizen

He Seungri-ed… (Seungri means win in Korean)

—Netizen

He used to come on shows acting so arrogant as if he was chaebol. Look at him now…

—Netizen

This shouldn’t end with Seungri. They should also go after the police, the prosecutors, and the chaebol sons who are also involved. They made him a scapegoat and themselves. They must be found.
