Melon is the most-used streaming service in Korea, and its real-time charts are often a good indicator of which K-Pop artists are the most popular at any given time.

Recently, the year-end results became available for 2022, revealing the ten most streamed K-Pop groups of last year. The streams include each group’s entire discography, not just materials released in 2022.

10. Red Velvet

In 2022, Red Velvet released their first Japanese-language album and two Korean-language mini-albums, which featured the popular tracks “Feel My Rhythm” and “Birthday.” 

The popular 3rd-gen group has topped the charts with numerous tracks since their debut in 2014, and they’re not afraid of trying new sounds.

Red Velvet had 224 million streams on Melon in 2022!

9. NewJeans

The addition of rising 4th-gen group NewJeans to this list may be expected, but it’s even more impressive considering their discography closing out the year consisted of only five songs released within a five-month span.

NewJeans’ new single “OMG” was just released, and the group is currently occupying three of the top five spots with “OMG,” “Ditto,” and “Hype Boy” on the Top 100 charts at the time of writing.

NewJeans had 279 million streams on Melon in 2022!

8. aespa

aespa debuted at the end of 2020 and earned three Daesangs as rookies. They’ve released two mini-albums since their debut, including their recent EP Girls. Although they have a limited discography due to their more recent debut, they are impressively eighth among the most streamed K-Pop groups on Melon.

The popular 4th-gen group has 290 million streams for 2022!

7. BIGBANG

BIGBANG

BIGBANG released their first single in 4 years with “Still Life” on April 5, 2022, which quickly took over the music charts. With their comeback, they received their 100th music show win, even though they didn’t promote the single.

Although they debuted in 2006, BIGBANG’s legendary discography continues to be appreciated and loved to this day.

BIGBANG had 292 million streams on Melon in 2022!

6. BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK returned after two years in 2022 and released their long-awaited second full-length album, BORN PINK, before going on their 45-show world tour of the same name.

With BORN PINK along, BLACKPINK “established three Guinness World Records. It also set a new single-day streaming mark by a female artist on Spotify for 2022,” according to Billboard.

Along with their other hit songs, BLACKPINK was streamed 307 million times on Melon in 2022!

5. (G)I-DLE

In 2022, (G)I-DLE released their first full-length album, I Never Die, released their fifth mini-album, and went on their first world tour.

The group continued to prove their talent as the members were heavily involved in the creative process and songwriting for their releases.

4. IVE

IVE debuted at the end of 2021 and sky-rocketed to fame with their back-to-back hit title tracks, “ELEVEN,” “Love Dive,” and “AFTER Like.”

At the 2022 Melon Music Awards, IVE became the 3rd fastest K-Pop girl group to receive their first Daesang.

IVE had 390 million streams on Melon with only three mini-albums in 2022!

3. NCT DREAM

2. SEVENTEEN

Not only was SEVENTEEN named one of the busiest groups of 2022, but they were also 2nd most-streamed on Melon with 662 million streams in 2022!

Finally, BTS tops the most-streamed list for 2022 on Melon and further proved their status as one of the top music groups. 

BTS had another monumental year and celebrated their nine-year history with an anthology album PROOF, featuring three new songs, their hit songs over the years, and previously unreleased materials.

The group was streamed 994 million times on Melon in 2022!
