In the first four episodes, fans learned more about the talented pre-debut line-up, which consists of seven YG Entertainment trainees: PharitaAhyeon, RoraChiquitaRukaHaram, and Asa.

The seven pre-debut members were split into two teams for a performance challenge and were mentored by their YG Entertainment sunbaes, including BLACKPINK‘s Lisa and Jennie ahead of their evaluation.

After completing their team challenges, it was time to move on to individual stages, and Pharita ranked first for her performance, so she held her solo stage before the other members.

Rora and Asa also performed, and Asa revealed impressive practice techniques she used when preparing for her final evaluation performance.

Asa is known for her impressive rapping skills, so to stand out, Asa chose to perform “Me, Myself, & I” by Bebe Rexha and G-Eazy to show a new side to her skills through singing.

With the chance to debut with YG Entertainment’s next girl group on the line, Asa diligently practiced her song and revealed her unique way of tracking her practices.

She uses her phone calculator and adds a number each time she performs until she reaches 100.

She also had a method to recreate the atmosphere of the evaluation by performing in the practice room and pretending she was standing in front of the judges.

To practice singing in front of an audience, fellow BABYMONSTER members Rora, Ahyeon, Ruka, and Pharita stepped in to help.

Her hard work and efforts paid off, and she was praised by the judges for her singing and impressive Korean language skills, having only studied the language for four and a half years after moving from Japan to become a trainee.

The battle to debut continues next Friday as YG Entertainment uses each performance to determine who will debut in BABYMONSTER.
