Boy Group’s Emotional First Win On Public Broadcast Has Fans In Tears
Many groups attended the weekly music show on the February 28th episode of Music Bank and performed their recent comebacks. The two nominees for the episode were IVE with their song “마지막 축제” and ONF with “The Stranger.”
IVE initially outscored in the digital category, but ONF scored stronger across three categories, securing the win with a score of 7680.
This win was the first time the group had earned more than one in a comeback cycle, and the members were very emotional. Wyatt, in particular, fell to his knees after the announcement and bowed.
All of the members seemed to have their own moments during the encore stage.
Though ONF have already gotten their first music show win and had others, two were on MTV‘s The Show and one on MBC M’s Show Champion, which are broadcast on a subscription channel. Music Bank, Inkigayo, and Music Core are all broadcast on public television and are considered “harder” to win by some, though all music show wins are noteworthy.
The group also went live after the show to thank fans again for helping them earn this win.
Seungjun said when they go to greet the writers and directors after music shows they always told them “Fuse vote a lot this time and it’s a trophy received because they put a lot of effort” and ONF feel thankful whenever they heard that 🥹
