Divorced Actress’s Rumored New Boyfriend Swims Across The Sea For Her
A twice-divorced singer-actress and her rumored new boyfriend are keeping fans guessing about their relationship. Are they dating or not? Their latest viral video is being perceived as a grand romantic gesture by fans.
Last summer, Malaysian star Bella Astillah and Singaporean actor Aliff Aziz divorced for the second time after a string of scandals. At a press conference, Bella claimed her ex-husband had cheated on her with 11 women, including her own sister.
Fast forward to 2025. In January, rumors arose that Bella is now dating Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, a Malaysian politician and convicted criminal, after they filmed a dance challenge together. Syed Saddiq was previously sentenced to seven years in prison and two strokes of the cane for multiple corruption-related charges. He has appealed the ruling and is currently serving as Muar MP.
Since that TikTok video, the pair’s chemistry and closeness have given rise to dating rumors. The two recently visited parliament together with Astillah’s oldest child, Ayden Adrean, and took photos with the parliament staff.
Now, the pair is making headlines again! On March 1, Syed Saddiq posted a new TikTok video featuring Bella. In it, he swims across the sea to her in the rain while the song “Sumpah Dan Cinta Matiku” by Indonesian rock band Nidji plays. The video’s caption, “I’ll climb every mountain, And swim every ocean…” seem to be referencing “You Are The Reason,” a love song by English singer-songwriter Calum Scott. In “You Are The Reason,” Calum Scott sings, “I’ll climb every mountain and swim every ocean just to be with you.”

In just two days, the video has racked up 6.3 million views and over 506,000 likes on TikTok. The video also currently has 2.7 million views on Syed Saddiq’s personal Instagram account.
Although the rumored couple hasn’t officially confirmed their relationship, Syed Saddiq’s mother seems to ship them! In a TikTok live, Sharifah Mahani compared her son and Bella to William Shakespeare‘s Romeo and Juliet. “[Even] with his mother, he never did that,” she joked, referring to the watery grand gesture, “never swam, never climbed a mountain or anything.”
