Netflix’s “KPop Demon Hunters” Has Fans Down Bad For The Villains

Netflix dropped the trailer for a new, animated K-Pop movie, and let’s just say…

KPop Demon Hunters follows a three-member girl group that sings by day and slays demons by night. Rumi (voiced by Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji Young Yoo) must take down a group of demons disguised as a rival boy group to protect their fans’ souls. The leader of the boy group, Jinu, is voiced by actor Ahn Hyo Seop. The film also features the song “Takedown,” sung by TWICE‘s JeongyeonJihyo, and Chaeyeon.

The first part of the Saja Boys‘ name, saja, is the Korean word for “lion,” but it’s also a play on the Korean Grim Reaper, Jeoseung Saja. They might be evil, but the temptation to stan them is very strong. Some netizens have already chosen their bias…

…and it’s not hard to see why.

Some fans have pointed out similarities between the Saja Boys’ appearances and those of real-life K-Pop idols, such as ATEEZ‘s Seonghwa
