“Street Woman Fighter” Contestant Struggles With PTSD After Filming The Show
Dancer and choreographer Honey J recently opened up about the emotional toll that Street Woman Fighter took on her, revealing that she developed trauma after filming the popular survival dance show.

In a new episode of Salon Drip 2 uploaded to the TEO YouTube channel on June 3, Honey J appeared alongside fellow dancers Lip J and Leejung. Host Jang Do Yeon asked the trio why they returned to compete in Street Woman Fighter: World Championship despite already experiencing the intense environment of the original series.
Honey J responded honestly, saying she doubted her decision to return.
I think I’ve romanticized the memory. Every time we film, I find myself asking, ‘Why did I agree to do this again?’ As soon as we started the first shoot, I immediately remembered, ‘Ah, right… this is how it was.’

She also brought up how watching the show again wasn’t something she or the others often did. Turning to Lip J and Leejung, she asked, “Do you ever rewatch Street Woman Fighter?” When Lip J immediately said no, Jang Do Yeon expressed surprise and asked why.
It’s because of the trauma. There’s a specific sound they use when they reveal missions. That sound gives me PTSD.

Despite the difficult memories, Honey J also said that the time away from the show after it finished had helped her heal and see things from a different perspective.
As time passed, a lot of the painful parts faded. I’ve come to feel more gratitude, and I think that’s why only the good memories remain.

Her answer also explains why she made the decision to compete again in the “World” edition of the show. With only good memories remaining, it’s understandable that Honey J felt safe enough to return to the ruthless competition and environment.
