IU’s Idol-Actor “Ex-Boyfriend” Apologizes On Broadcast
Earlier this year, the popular series When Life Gives You Tangerines made a splash among viewers. Starring IU and Park Bo Gum, the series is a multigenerational slice-of-life series about a woman who wants to be a poet, her daughter, and her husband.

The series follows one of IU’s characters, Yang Geum Myeong, as she attends university, studying English Language and Literature.

While studying, Geum Myeong entered a relationship with Yeong Beom (played by actor Lee Jun Young), that ultimately ended due to Yeong Beom’s meddling mother.
This was a hotly debated ended for the couple that many netizens argued against and for.

It seems that this translated to real life as well, following a surprising interaction.
During an episode of KBS’s Heart on Wheels Lee Jun Young was recognized by a citizen who mentioned his character and questioned why he didn’t treat Geum Myeong better, leading him to apologize.
Later in the episode, Lee Jun Young apologized to an advertisement of IU in a window.
This hilarious moment only shows how popular When Life Gives You Tangerines is!
