Criticism Of BLACKPINK’s Jennie With Pre-Debut Photo Sparks Major Backlash
An OP who tried to defame BLACKPINK‘s Jennie by sharing an old pre-debut photo has been hit with backlash as netizens defended the idol.

Recently, a photo was posted on Nate Pann with the caption “Jennie’s past is kind of shocking. ” It shows the idol with two male friends from when she was younger, assuming it was taken when she lived in New Zealand.

The photo has over 120,000 views.

However, netizens were quick to hit back at the OP. While some joked about the “shocking” nature, others didn’t understand how the photo could be used as any controversy, pointing out that people go out with friends when they’re young, and Jennie would have been no exception.

- “How top-tier is Jennie that people are still smearing her like this? LOL. Truly the fate of a top female idol.”
- “Are you ‘Jennie-obsessed crazy ahjummas’ still active? You all stayed quiet for a while and now they’re all crawling back out again.”
- “So what, LOL. People keep bringing up this photo, talking about school bullying and stuff—it’s like a mental illness at this point, LOL. Just remember that one infamous Jennie-obsessed lady from Pann got sued and hasn’t posted in a while.”

- “I don’t see what’s wrong with this at all… If anything, it just shows she was super popular in school.”
- “What’s the issue with her hanging out freely and intensely with good-looking foreign guys when she was young? It’s not a big deal.”
- “OP keeps doing this… It’s just sad at this point.”
- “Jennie was so charming when she was young—so pretty.”
In particular, the original photo shows Jennie with a whole group of friends.
