Rumors about a rising star’s personal life are threatening to upend his flourishing career. Now, another star’s name has been added to the mix.

Chinese actor Tian Xu Ning is relatively new to the entertainment industry, having made his debut in 2020, but in just five years, his popularity has skyrocketed. He stars in Revenged Love, a 2025 BL (Boys’ Love) series about a man who takes revenge on his ex-girlfriend by trying to seduce her current boyfriend (played by Tian).

Fuel was added to Tian’s dating rumor fire on July 8, when his former co-star, actress Teng Ze Wen, posted and quickly deleted her alleged chat messages with Tian. In the messages allegedly sent by Tian, he referred to Teng as “wifey.” The messages were timestamped June 2024. Teng and Tian had finished filming their 2024 series The Silent Wife together in May 2024.

According to Teng, Tian led her to believe that he was “single at the time,” and the two became romantically involved after filming together. The timing and Teng’s remark have led to more speculation about Tian’s personal life. He is rumored to have been in a years-long relationship with a woman named Susu until 2023. He is also rumored to be dating a woman named Ruoruo.

After Teng’s deleted post went viral, Teng’s manager, producer Yu Zheng, weighed in on the matter on social media. He claimed that Teng did date Tian back in 2024, and he rebuked the actress for damaging her career by sharing details about her private life online, even going so far as to suggest that she should leave the agency. His response has reportedly ignited backlash from Teng’s fans.
