“Apology from Segyung Vina Regarding 7/11 Photo Booth Incident

This is a statement to the Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese people, the Korean community, and everyone involved with our company.

I am Jeon Sung Wook, the CEO of Segyung Hightech’s Vietnam Corporation (Segyung Vina). First, the company would like to apologize to the Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese people, the Korean community, and everyone involved.

This incident involves a Korean employee who worked for the Vietnamese corporation and is currently working at the Korean headquarters, who assaulted two Vietnamese people during a business trip to Vietnam (July 9-14).

We fully understand that the unethical behavior of the employee is absolutely unacceptable and goes against the company’s management principles of complying with Vietnamese laws, respecting Vietnamese culture, and growing together with Vietnamese employees.

This incident occurred on the evening of July 11, 2025, but since it happened after the employee left work, Segyeong Vina was only made aware of the situation after the incident spread widely through social media at noon on July 14, 2025.

After finding out about the situation, Segyeong Vina held an emergency meeting and is working to resolve the issue by contacting the victims, those involved in the photo booth where the incident occurred, and the police. Our company takes this incident very seriously and promises to do its best to resolve the issue in cooperation with Segyeong Hi-Tech, the head office, and once again, we offer our deepest apologies.

Below are our follow-up measures.

1. The head office employee who committed the assault has been dismissed.
2. We will do our best to sincerely apologize to the victim of the assault and provide compensation for the damages.
3. We will establish a code of conduct for Segyeong Vina’s overseas employees and all head office employees and provide periodic training to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
Fourth. We will actively cooperate with the Vietnamese authorities to clearly identify the circumstances and cause of the incident and prevent the same incident from recurring.

In addition, we will take additional measures depending on the progress.
Once again, we sincerely apologize to the victims and the Vietnamese people who suffered due to this incident. We will do our best to build sustainable relations between Korea and Vietnam through continuous improvement and to act as partners who respect each other.”

Netizens were shocked that someone would act that way during a business trip.
