Popular Star Comes Face To Face With Ex-Husband’s Alleged Mistress On Stage, Sparking Calls For Boycott

Last summer, Malaysian actress Bella Astillah and Singaporean actor Aliff Aziz divorced for the second time after several scandals made headlines. The couple previously divorced in 2019 due to Aziz’s alleged infidelity after he was spotted with several women.

Aziz admitted to infidelity and was even charged with khalwat (a man and woman–who are not married to each other or related–being alone together in a secluded place), resulting in a fine. Astillah has moved on from the relationship and even allegedly has a new boyfriend, a famous politician.

While Astillah likely would like to leave the past in the past, a recent instance brought it back and has let to calls for a boycott.

On August 3, the 2025 Melodi Hottest Awards took place with Astillah attending and presenting the award for “Hottest Female Celebrity.” The winner of this award turned out to be Sophia Albarakbah, an actress known for her work in several drama series.

Albarakbah is also one of the women Astillah accused of being the “other woman” and of trying to ruin her marriage in 2023. As she presented the award, Astillah said “I know this one… I know her very well.” and appeared to be uncomfortable.

Many have accused the show and network, TV3, of trying to create a viral moment and left comments demanding apologies.
