A boy group member has announced his divorce from his non-celebrity wife, one year after becoming a father and four years after saying “I do.”

Kiryuin Sho, a member of the Japanese visual kei band Golden Bomber, broke the news on X (formerly Twitter), simply telling fans, “We officially divorced last week.”

In addition to this brief statement that came as a shock to fans, Sho posted an official statement on Golden Bomb’s fan club website, acknowledging fans’ reactions while refraining from eloborating on the matter.
We legally separated last week. I understand that news of a divorce is not something people want to hear, but I will strive to share more uplifting updates about live performances and events from now on. I will continue to give my best in my work.

No further details about the divorce, namely the reasons behind it, have been revealed so far. Sho married his ex-wife in 2021, and she gave birth to their child in August of 2024.
