The remarks seemingly came out of nowhere.

BLACKPINK‘s Lisa was recently attacked unexpectedly by a scandal-prone American singer.

American singer Doja Cat recently released “Jealous Type,” which has earned her her biggest streaming debut to date. The track, which was released with a music video as well, is from her upcoming album, set for release in September.

The release was believed by some to have beaten Lisa’s debut record on Spotify, but has since been said not to have.

This seems to have triggered the remarks toward Lisa, in the comments of Brett Alan Nelson, creative director and celebrity wardrobe stylist. Nelson, who has worked with Doja Cat in both roles for several years, shared an update on Instagram about her release.

In the comments, American Musician Azealia Banks criticized Nelson, saying that the video “sucks” and attributing it to him spending time working with “that young mukbang.

Nelson’s has posted frequently about his work with BLACKPINK’s Lisa, leaving little mystery as to who Banks was referring to considering her previous comments about Lisa.

Banks also sent a tweet around the same time, including a screenshot that accused Lisa of being transgender, something she has done before in the past.

Many, including fans of Doja Cat, have expressed confusion and anger over the seemingly random and allegedly jealousy inspired mentions of Lisa.
