Actress Shuri, the daughter of Partners star Mizutani Yutaka and Candies idol Ito Ran, has shocked fans by announcing her marriage to Ryoki Miyama, a BE:FIRST member who has been surrounded by controversy.

On August 29, the couple revealed through their social media accounts that they had tied the knot — and even more surprisingly, that they are expecting their first child together. “A new life has come to us,” they wrote.

But the news didn’t come without turbulence. Earlier this year, Shuri and Miyama had planned to announce their marriage in May with a small ceremony. Those plans were suddenly halted in April after explosive reports claimed that Miyama scammed former AV actress and YouTuber Ono Akari in what was described as a “marriage fraud.”

Japanese media alleged that Miyama had once been engaged to Ono and even received nearly 100 million yen (about 940 million KRW) from her before abruptly cutting off contact. While Miyama admitted to dating Ono, he insisted that their relationship ended by mutual agreement.

Shuri’s father, Mizutani Yutaka, reportedly reacted strongly when the scandal broke. Insiders revealed that both Mizutani and his wife were against the relationship from the start and were deeply unsettled by Miyama’s past.

Despite parental disapproval, Shuri pressed forward with her decision after confirming her pregnancy. According to Josei Jishin, Mizutani ultimately respected his daughter’s choice but sternly warned the newlyweds: “If another scandal involving women surfaces, I will never help you again.”

Shuri, who debuted as an actress in 2011, has steadily built her career with lead roles in dramas such as IS: Neither Man Nor Woman, Reverse, Innocence: False Accusation Lawyer, and Boogie Woogie. Now, her personal life has taken center stage — but for all the wrong reasons.
