“Hello, this is Yubin. I am writing this because something tragic has happened to my beloved family. My older cousin’s wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 and has been going through complex treatments ever since. Unfortunately, the cancer metastasized to her brain in 2024, making each day a struggle.
Fortunately, we managed to find an effective treatment, but it’s tough to receive proper treatment due to the difficult circumstances. With a desperate wish to save my sister, even if it’s only a little, I ask for your help.
The matter is not just for our family, but is something that affects the future of breast cancer patients, ensuring that they have better access to treatment.
We would be so grateful if you could help us, even if it’s just a small gesture, so that many patients can continue to have hope.”

Along with the post, she included a link to the petition.

Petition for Health Insurance Coverage and Expedited Processing of Tucatinib, a Breast Cancer Brain Metastasis Treatment
However, her post garnered backlash from netizens.

- “I thought she meant direct family, but it’s actually her cousin’s wife.”
- “Can we support this personally and not through petitions?”
- “Is there a tax issue with this?”
- “If it’s a treatment that’s not approved for use in Korea and they’re trying to get treatment, then most people would agree with the petition, but if it’s to get health insurance coverage for expensive treatment for certain situations, it won’t be likely to sway people’s opinions…”
- “But we can’t cover all medications. We’re on the verge of health insurance bankruptcy.”
- “Instead of posting emotional petitions, we need to know how effective the treatment is. It’s a shame that they are sick, though.”
