“This Sh*t Screams Sloppy” — Upcoming Netflix K-Drama Hit With Scathing Criticism
Netflix’s upcoming series features two of Korea’s most famous K-Drama actors, but will star power be enough to win viewers over?

Genie, Make A Wish is a new fantasy romance K-Drama starring Bae Suzy and Kim Woo Bin that will premiere on October 3. It follows a genie (played by Woo Bin), who wakes up after thousands of years to grant a human woman (played by Suzy) three wishes. The show has been getting pushback since the first trailer dropped for both its plot and its aesthetics.

Recently, Netflix released new character posters that have been getting mixed reactions online. In one poster, Woo Bin’s character is referred to as “The Satan of the Lamp,” and he lounges, surrounded by glowing sand particles and magic.

The other poster features Suzy, “The Psychopathic Master,” holding the genie’s lamp and a drill.

Like the trailer, these new teaser images don’t seem to be getting viewers excited for the show. One netizen compared the posters to “AI slop,” while others said that the show looks “low budget.”

In particular, Woo Bin’s poster was criticised for making the actor look unappealing.

Others have been turned off by the show’s concept, finding it offensive regardless of how aesthetically pleasing the show is.
