Liu Yu Ning is a Chinese singer, actor, and the lead singer of Modern Brothers, a Chinese rock band. Since he rose to stardom in 2018, Liu has been in the news several times for his personal life. In 2023, paparazzi and blogger YangYang broke the news that Liu had been married in April 2012. He divorced his ex-wife in December 2013. Less than two hours later, Liu went on livestream and confirmed that the reports were true; he is divorced with no children. At the time, he slammed the paparazzi for revealing photos of his ex and her child.

In August, Liu became embroiled in dating rumors with Zhu Xu Dan, his co-lead in A Dream Within A Dream. The dating rumors dominated Weibo’s trending charts and triggered a flurry of fan theories. Both Liu and Zhu denied the rumors and asked the public not to jump to conclusions.

Now, according to the latest gossip, Liu is romantically involved with his female manager of ten years. Liu recently shut down the rumors during a livestream, calling the rumors “baseless” and the speculation “disgusting.”
My manager has been married for ten years. Her husband often helps me out—even drives me around sometimes—though he isn’t part of the team. How can someone so kind to me be turned into the subject of such baseless rumours? And worse, people actually believe it. It’s disgusting.

“First, I hope all my fans, old and new, don’t get involved in my staff’s private lives,” he said. “You’re my fans, not theirs. Second, stop sharing these rumours. My manager is married. From today, let’s end this topic.” When fans suggested that Liu should consider taking legal action, the star said he would prefer to call out the issue instead.
There’s no rush to sue. I don’t like to say threatening words or threaten people. If there’s an issue, I’ll speak about it myself—you’ll hear it from my mouth, not through the studio.
[. . .] These baseless stories don’t only damage my reputation—they wound my team, who give their best every day.
