When the picture and synopsis were shared, they sparked major criticism not just for Park Seo Joon having to play someone significantly younger, but also for the gap with the female lead. Won Ji An was born in 1999, and Park Seo Joon in 1988, making it an 11-year difference.

  • Are there really no male actors in their early 20s? LOL
  • Eh.. lol it must be embarrassing to act like that.
  • This doesn’t feel right…

  • “Seriously, can they match the age gap better. No matter how well you take care of yourself, you can’t hide age.”
  • “An 11-year age difference? Wow…”

Yet, aside from the age gap, with some of the comments focusing on Park Seo Joon playing someone in their early 20s, netizens pointed out that it was only in flashback scenes and that for most of the drama, the age was in his 30s, matching his current state.

  • “They said it’s a flashback scene, a flashback scene.
His current role is set in his late 30s, his current role is set in his late 30s.”
  • “The female lead seems too young for her role, but that part’s a flashback scene.”
  • “If it’s a flashback, and both the male and female leads looked obviously too old/too young, people would’ve just laughed it off. But since they said it is a flashback, now the problem is that the female lead doesn’t match the age range either. Fundamentally, the drama sets them up as peers, but their real-life ages don’t align…”

The show is set to air later in the year.
