CORTIS Accused Of “Burning” Cha Eunwoo’s Name Off Their Clothes
CORTIS, BIGHIT MUSIC’s newest boy group, has already been wrapped up in multiple controversies in merely weeks since their debut.

The latest issue comes after fans accused the group of “burning” ASTRO star Cha Eunwoo’s name off one of their shirts.

Earlier this month, CORTIS hosted a live “listening party” where members performed several of their songs. During the ending encore, the members walked out wearing white shirts covered in messages written by fans.

Later, fans noticed that Keonho’s shirt had Cha Eunwoo’s name on it — likely referencing the frequent comparisons between the two idols’ visuals.

The situation escalated when a netizen claimed that Eunwoo’s name had been burned off the shirt. The accusation quickly spread, with a related post on TheQoo already surpassing 80,000 views and sparking heated debate online.

Some netizens argued that CORTIS should have simply left the shirts as they were, while others felt the accusations were exaggerated.

Still, many pointed out how Cha Eunwoo’s name continues to be used online even though the star is now enlisted in the military.

- “Cha Eunwoo’s always the one being used for viral buzz… he’s the only one I feel bad for. He came from a smaller company and finally made it big.”
- “Cha Eunwoo fans are being so extra.”
- “HYBE needs to fail, lol. Just collapse already. I’m sick of seeing all these toxic stans pop out everywhere. Please, just disappear so I don’t have to hear their nonsense anymore.”
- “Once the page changes, you see tons of identical comments all at once. It’s creepy. The intention is obvious — maybe even fabricated.”
- “HYBE really does need to fail.”
- “Wearing it as-is would’ve been worse. Honestly, people would still complain no matter what.”
- “Using Cha Eunwoo’s name for clout and then erasing it? That’s low. And now they’re saying he looks like Ji Chang Wook, but he doesn’t look like him at all.”
So far, neither BIGHIT MUSIC nor CORTIS have made any statement regarding the controversy.
