Popular Boy Group Star Accused Of Severely Disrespecting Senior Idol
NCT Dream‘s Chenle is under fire from Korean netizens over a dance challenge video with second-generation star Dongwoo of INFINITE.

Dongwoo has been delighting fans this week with a series of dance challenge videos to promote his latest track, “Sway (Zzz),” but a recent upload with Chenle has sparked far more negative reactions.
In the clip, the pair can be seen dancing to the Chinese version of “Sway (Zzz),” and while Dongwoo maintains a bright smile throughout, Chenle’s expression remains noticeably straight-faced.
Though Chenle did give a smile at the end of the video, his seemingly nonchalant demeanor during the dance has sparked fierce backlash.

Korean netizens quickly flooded the video’s comments with criticism, accusing Chenle of a lack of respect — especially given the seniority gap between the idols. INFINITE first made their debut in 2010, six years before NCT Dream. Many even questioned why Chenle participated in the challenge at all.

- “If he doesn’t want to do the challenge, then just don’t do it. Or at least pretend to put some effort into it… INFINITE are really big seniors, but the idol next to him has zero manners.”
- “The idol doing the challenge with Dongwoo has no manners… If he doesn’t want to do it, then don’t, or at least act like he’s trying. Even if he’s more popular, they’re huge seniors. His facial expression and the way he’s dancing are honestly uncomfortable to watch and just hurting his own image. Makes me wonder why he’s acting like that…”
- “INFINITE aren’t just seniors. They’re way, way above him. But is it really okay to act like that in a challenge in the first place…?”
- “Why is Chenle doing it so half-heartedly…”
- “If you don’t want to do it, then don’t. What’s with him.”
- “Being all sloppy in front of big seniors…”
- “He’s giving off total ‘I don’t want to do this’ vibes lol”
“Sway (Zzz)” and its corresponding mini-album, AWAKE, mark Dongwoo’s first solo comeback in almost seven years. Recently, the star revealed the lengths he went to in order to fund the release entirely on his own.
