Ex-Day6’s eaJ Accused Of Defending Homophobia — Tells Critical Fan To “Stay Away”
Recently, former Day6 member eaJ faced backlash over several comments he made in response to homophobia.

Since he departed from Day6, eaJ has built his own community with his solo efforts, where he is very active in responding to concerns and complaints from fans. On November 25, a netizen made a post showing Christianity-based responses to a queer individual’s complaints, remarking on the homophobia found in the “community,” seeming to reference eaJa’s fandom.
this is what has become of the “community”. people thinking it’s acceptable to be downright cruel to those who are queer, openly admitting that they’re homophobic, and laughing about it with each other. using religion to back up hate is not okay. pic.twitter.com/FzcRxXf6uq

In response to this post, eaJ expressed disappointment in the, stating that “it goes both ways” but that he was an “entity of inclusion” and that no one was more moral. He also said that everyone has a right to their opinion, though they should not be forced on others or be condemned for them.
I guess I haven’t seen this whole thing going on but guys… this is disappointing. I know it goes both ways and everyone is in self defense mode but I’ll make it very clear here. EAJ is an entity of all inclusion. NOONE is higher/more moral than another and EVERYONE has a right…

eaJ also responded to others who spoke on the subject with similar responses, including telling someone who was a fan that they should stay away from the “community” rather than respond to the criticism. A follow-up message also did not respond, instead offered the individual a farewell message.
I’m coming to you respectfully. I know it looks fun to just jump into things and attack people but you aren’t even a community member 😭 you instigate and cause these fights to escalate while not even being part of the fandom. Please, respectfully, stay away from our community.

I appreciate your time here and respect your decision and wish you luck on your future path my friend 🙇♂️🫶

Throughout history, homophobia has often been justified by those who claim it goes against their religion, though many modern scholars have interpreted the biblical passages cited as not referencing same-sex relationships in the way modern society speaks of them. This claim of “religion freedom” has been criticized by many who believe that certain groups’ human rights are not opinions to be had, especially when it comes to the legal rights gay marriage affords couples.
Many responded to eaJ echoing these sentiments, criticizing his alleged unwillingness to decry the homophobia witnessed by others in the fandom.
jae homophobia is not an opinion to have nor respect. the discussion here is: members of your said eaJ community are being queerphobic. are you really okay with this? you really think it is just a opinion that queer people should respect? no one should be allowed to hate jae :( https://t.co/MkR5WHg0iZ

So queer fans are telling you your church supports homophobia, you tell them if they don't like it they should leave.
A fan is telling you they're experiencing homophobia in the fandom and you're telling the victim to leave.
I'm truly starting to doubt you are an ally https://t.co/Jx2ICS0sSb

i changed my pfp bc it was EMBARRASSING to have your face on my acc while you allowed your community to fester in homophobic morals, and wouldn’t even try to understand where we came from. pls get off your pony and take some time to reflect https://t.co/QGwGcDlkBW
