5-Year-Old Girl Group’s Disbandment Announcement Shocks Fans
After five years together, a girl group’s time is coming to an end.
#BABABABAMBI is a five-member Japanese female idol group that debuted in 2020. At the beginning of 2024, the group announced a new lineup that would include three new members. Now, a year after this restart to their activities, #BABABABAMBI is saying farewell to fans.
On November 27, #BABABABAMBI announced on their official website that they will be disbanding next spring. According to this statement, both the members and their management team agreed that it was the right time to “conclude the story on a beautiful note,” after extensive discussions about the members’ plans for the future.
The “sudden announcement” reportedly comes as a shock to fans, given that #BABABABAMBI has overcome past struggles, such as having their debut delayed due to COVID-19, broadcasting restrictions, and their 2024 restructuring.

“We will give everything we have until the very end,” #BABABABAMBI promised fans, who will be able to see them perform one last time in March 2026. The exact date of their final ticketing and ticket sales will be announced at a future date.
Sadly, #BABABABAMBI isn’t the only group that announced their final performance this year.
