2PM’s Junho Speaks On Taecyeon’s Marriage, His Own Love Life, And More
Singer and actor Lee Junho spoke on fellow 2PM member Taecyeon’s marriage announcement, his own love life, and more.
On the 1st, an interview was held with Junho, the lead actor of tvN’s weekend drama Typhoon Family, at a cafein Seongsu-dong, Seoul.
Typhoon Family, which ended on the 30th of last month, is a 16-episode drama depicting the struggles and growth of rookie businessman Kang Tae Poong (played by Junho), who suddenly becomes the head of a trading company during the 1997 IMF crisis with no staff, money, or products to sell. Junho passionately portrayed the 20-something Kang Tae Poong, a former troublemaker from Apgujeong who unexpectedly loses his father and becomes the head of his household and a novice company president, delivering a compelling coming-of-age story that proved his limitless character versatility and remarkable acting skill.
Starting with a nationwide rating of 5.9% (Nielsen), the show peaked at 10.3% in its final episode and ended successfully. It was also ranked as the most loved broadcast program by Koreans in a November Gallup poll.
Notably, since his military hiatus, Junho has returned to the entertainment scene riding the resurgence of 2PM’s song “My House,” scoring three consecutive hit projects with MBC’s The Red Sleeve (2021), JTBC’s King the Land (2023), and tvN’s Typhoon Family (2025), earning the titles of “box office king” and a “trusted actor.”
This year, he left his longtime agency JYP Entertainment, which he has been with since 2PM’s debut, to establish his own one-man agency, O3 Collective. He continues his busy schedule with upcoming releases including the Netflix series Cashero and the recently announced casting in the film Veteran 3.
Since his discharge in March 2021, Junho has been working non-stop, currently hard at work on Cashero and his next project Veteran 3. He is so busy that with concerts and fan meetings intermittently, he feels like he would need ten bodies.
He shared, “It’s really great. Honestly, I don’t even know how grateful I am to have projects I can actually shoot. I enjoy it so much. As an actor, every time I take on a new challenge, I create a new character, and that joy keeps me going. I feel so happy to have these opportunities, and I hope it stays this way for my whole life,” he said with a smile.
When asked if he ever experiences burnout, he replied, “Rather than burnout, I just feel ‘maybe a bit more tired than before?’ (laughs) I think, ‘Oh, maybe I’m just a little tired these days.’ I avoid thinking ‘I’m burnt out’ because I feel like if I start thinking that, it will actually happen. Even when things are tough, I think, ‘Why am I like this? Maybe I’m just tired,’ and I manage okay,” amusingly describing it as a “good kind of madness.”
Currently, Junho says he prioritizes work over love. Recently, 2PM member Taecyeon announced his upcoming marriage, becoming the second married member of the group.

Although Junho has no special thoughts about dating or marriage due to his focus on work, he said, “If it happens naturally, I’m ready to welcome it. (laughs) Seeing many actors and colleagues around me living happy lives makes me want to support them.”
Reflecting on his career, he added, “I’ve been so immersed in my work that I didn’t even realize it’s been 18 years since my debut. I suddenly realized, ‘Wow, 18 years have passed.’ Though it’s not my story, watching such good things gradually and naturally happen around me, I think, ‘Good things are happening.’”
