NCT’s Doyoung Reveals The Celebrities He’s Thankful For
NCT’s Doyoung has announced a special meeting with his loved ones through Thanks Buddy Club.
The new TEO variety show Thanks Buddy Club, premiering on the 10th at 6pm KST, is a project where heartfelt gratitude is expressed through preparing a warm meal. It features NCT’s Doyoung, who is about to enlist in the military, reflecting on his friendships and spending meaningful time with important people in his life.
Joining Doyoung as members of the Thanks Buddy Club is a diverse cast. Stars with special connections to Doyoung—such as BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, GOT7’s Jinyoung, TVXQ’s Changmin, Red Velvet’s Seulgi, Jonathan, musical actor Park Euntae, NCT members Johnny and Jungwoo, and star baby Taeha—will appear, sharing honest stories and warm laughter rarely heard elsewhere.
Among this, a teaser video revealing Doyoung’s inner thoughts before enlisting has been released, raising anticipation. Doyoung shares, “I always pictured the future as I started working, but now it’s a time when I don’t need to think about the near future. So I find myself wondering, ‘What should I do?’” He continues, “When they said I would be enlisting, many people reached out saying ‘Let’s have a meal together,’ and it made me want to cook for them myself,” explaining how the Thanks Buddy Club project began.
Regarding whom he wants to invite first, Doyoung says, “The first people who come to mind are my NCT members.” He also mentions Red Velvet’s Seulgi, Taeha, Jonathan, SHINee’s Minho, and Park Euntae. He adds, “It’s been a long time since the three of us met,” including BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and GOT7’s Jinyoung—members of their “JinJiDo” trio. Scenes of their meetings are partially shown in the teaser, sparking curiosity about the conversations to come.
Doyoung reveals his heartfelt intentions for the project, saying, “I have thought about this for a long time, but the people around me are so wonderful that I feel very thankful. It might sound a bit cheesy, but I want to express my gratitude directly and invite them for a meal.”
Doyoung personally creates and sends out invitations for the Thanks Buddy Club. The recipients are described as “my grateful friends,” giving the impression of Doyoung conveying his gratitude in the form of letters. Behind Doyoung, who is smiling, a Christmas atmosphere fills the background, heightening anticipation for the meaningful gatherings with cherished people he hasn’t seen in a while.
Thanks Buddy Club will be released on TEO’s YouTube channel in two episodes. The first episode airs on Wednesday, December 10, at 6pm KST, and the second episode on Wednesday, December 17, at 6pm KST.
