BTS Becomes The First Korean Singers To Receive Presidential Commendation For “Korea Good Donation Award”

The group BTS received the Presidential Commendation at the 5th Korea Good Donation Awards.

On the 8th, BTS became the first Korean singers to receive the Presidential Citation at the 5th Korea Good Donation Awards, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and organized by the Korea Association of Charitable Organizations. This awards ceremony has been held since 2021 to encourage individuals and organizations who have brought hope and courage to society through sharing and donation activities, to share various exemplary acts of kindness, and to promote a mature donation culture.

BTS expressed, “We feel a great sense of fulfillment in knowing that the ‘LOVE MYSELF’ campaign has had a positive impact on society. This award is not so much given to us, but rather it symbolizes encouragement and support for everyone who resonated with the message we spread through the campaign: ‘Love yourself and love the world.’ We especially want to dedicate this honor to ARMY, who have created the campaign with us. We will continue striving to be BTS that contributes to warm and healthy change.

They became the first K-pop artists to form an official partnership with UNICEF Korea in 2017, launching the “LOVE MYSELF” campaign. Through this, they promoted violence prevention and psychological support for children and adolescents in 155 countries and regions. They also provided mental health programs to over 100 million people globally, demonstrating their worldwide commitment to sharing and support. BTS and their agency Big Hit Music became UNICEF’s largest private partner in global child protection, raising approximately ₩9.20 billion KRW (about $6.26 million USD) with fans—an impressive figure representing about 15% of the related protection fund.

Beyond the campaign with UNICEF, BTS has driven positive change domestically and internationally through ongoing donations and their positive influence on social issues.

BTS is set to release new music next spring and announce a large-scale world tour. They are working hard to prepare to meet fans worldwide once again.
