Gender-Defying Male Idol Announces His Departure From Boy Group
After two years with his group, an idol will be saying goodbye to his fans and embarking on a new chapter.

20-year-old Hayate is a member of #Lovesick, a nine-member Japanese idol boy group that originally formed with six members on November 26, 2023. Unlike the rest of his members, Hayate dresses in traditionally female clothing with a visual kei edge, such as skirts and dresses.

Hayate’s styling also features long hair, acrylic nails, and hair accessories, including bows and ribbons.

Before joining #Lovesick, Hayate was a member of Scapegoat, a disbanded boy group that had a devil concept. Each member represented a different type of devil, with Hayate playing the “Demon of Greed.”

On December 7, #Lovesick announced that Hayate will be leaving the group on February 2, 2026. Before that, Hayate will perform alongside his members on December 25 during the RINDO LIVE Christmas Special at Tachikawa Stage Garden. His “graduation” and birthday celebrations will be combined on February 2 at Zepp Haneda in Tokyo, Japan. Unfortunately for fans, all of Hayate’s other scheduled activities have now been cancelled.

Hayate personally confirmed that he will be leaving the group, and he thanked fans and his members for their support. He explained that his health hasn’t allowed him to perform as he would like, and he feels that if he keeps pushing himself, it will only cause difficulties for #Lovesick. He has decided to step aside to avoid slowing down the group’s momentum and growth.

Although neither Hayate nor #Lovesick’s management mentioned it, the announcement reportedly comes not long after Japanese netizens exposed Hayate’s private social media account, sparking speculation about the timing.
Hayate didn’t reveal his future plans, but fans are ready to continue the leg of his journey with him.
