SM Entertainment Raises Eyebrows By Announcing EXO Member’s Absence On The Day Of Fanmeeting

SM Entertainment has raised eyebrows by announcing the absence of an EXO member on the day of the group’s fanmeeting.

SM Entertainment announced on the fan community Weverse, “Due to unavoidable circumstances, Lay will regrettably not be able to participate in the fanmeeting,” adding, “We ask for your understanding regarding this sudden change in participating members.”

Lay was supposed to perform at EXO’s fanmeeting, EXO’verse, held at the Inspire Arena in Incheon today. With Lay absent, five members—Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun—will participate in the fanmeeting.

This fan meeting marks EXO’s return to group activities after about two years since 2023. Controversy ensued when it was first announced that Lay would participate, while Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin (CBX) would be absent.
