The First And Only K-Pop Idol To Ever Become A Construction Equipment Ambassador

There has only been one K-Pop idol selected as an idol ambassador for a construction machinery brand.

Back in November 2023, HD Hyundai shared how that WJSN (Cosmic Girls) member Dayoung was selected as their global ambassador, breaking new ground for idols.

In the post, Dayoung could be seen holding the HD Hyundai employee badge alongside a miniature forklift. She commented on the post referring to the miniature forklift as the nickname “General.”

According to HD Hyundai, Dayoung has been selected as the ambassador for the construction machinery brand DEVELON, a brand of HD Hyundai Infracore. They mentioned that Dayoung visited the HD Hyundai GRC headquarters, and she was pictured standing in front of a huge banner welcoming her.

HD Hyundai also mentioned how Dayoung obtained a “license for a small excavator.”

She even obtained a small excavator license, fulfilling the ambassador qualification with a unique passion for #excavators!

Dayoung gained attention through YouTube series WorkDol, where she shared the process of acquiring an excavator license and her experience working part-time on a farm.

She obtained a license for a small excavator (under 3 tons) and showcased herself driving the excavator and working on a farm.

In the video, Dayoung proved her proficiency in driving heavy equipment with her impressive skills, solidifying her position as the first idol ambassador for construction machinery.

Dayoung is a member of the girl group WJSN (Cosmic Girls) and has actively participated in various television programs such as Kick A Goal, Idol League Season 4, and more. She recently found renewed success through her song “Body” which took Korea by storm.
