Hyun Bin’s Shockingly Dramatic Body Transformation Goes Viral
Actor Hyun Bin is returning to the drama scene after a six-year hiatus with the upcoming Disney+ original series, Made in Korea. As he takes on this new role, he expressed his hopes for a similar success to his previous work, Crash Landing on You.

On December 15, the press conference for the series was held in Gangnam, where he explained his drastic physical transformation.
I gained about 13-14 kg for the role of Baek Ki Tae, the head of the KCIA’s Intelligence Division. I wanted the character to reflect the intimidating presence of the KCIA as one of the most powerful agencies.

He also added that this was the heaviest he had been since the start of his acting career, revealing the immense effort he had made for the character.
I bulked up and worked out to build muscle. Out of all the characters I’ve played, this is the largest physique I’ve had.

He also mentioned the dramatic contrast between his previous role in the film Harbin.
For ‘Harbin,’ the director said it would be better if I didn’t have any muscle, so I didn’t exercise at all and lost muscle. I’ve gained about 13-14 kg since then.

He also expressed his anticipation for the series, citing the success of Crash Landing on You, in which he co-starred with his wife, Son Ye Jin.
I shouldn’t be too greedy. I hope this new series becomes as popular as ‘Crash Landing on You.’

Meanwhile, the six-part series will release the first two episodes on December 24. Two more episodes will follow on December 31, one on January 7, and the final episode on January 14.
