Korean Musician Hits The “Jackpot” Thanks To IU
On Radio Star, musician Kim Tae Won revealed the story of how he hit the jackpot all thanks to IU.

Appearing as a guest on MBC‘s Radio Star episode aired on the 17th, Kim Tae Won mentioned the enthusiastic response to IU’s remake of his band Boohwal‘s classic song “Never Ending Story.” He also shared that IU’s team had reached out to him first and expressed his admiration for IU’s genius during the production process.
Kim Tae Won candidly said, “I didn’t expect the song to become so popular overnight. IU is a superstar. I thought she would become even more successful,” praising the junior singer lavishly.
What was most surprising was the revenue generated after the remake. Regarding rumors that he earned ₩100 million KRW (about $67,800 USD) in royalties at once, Kim Tae Won confirmed, “Once. When IU did the remake,” acknowledging the claim. He added that this amount was revenue earned in just one quarter (three months), causing quite a stir on set.
