Popular Actress Admits To Being Victim To School Violence
On January 27, actress Lee Min Jung posted a YouTube video featuring a child and youth expert discussing parenting and youth issues.
During the discussion of the changes in school violence throughout the years, she naturally shared her personal experience.
Director Choi Min Joon explained the severity of past school violence.
Even 20 years ago, school violence was much more blatant than it is now. There was a kind of ‘acceptance’. If you were counting money outside, they’d approach you, putting their arms around your shoulders.

Lee Min Jung recalled her first year of middle school after listening to his statement.

“High school girls were sitting with their legs open, calling out, ‘Hey, come here.’ As soon as I approached them, they kicked me without saying a word.
They said they would search my bag, so I was so scared I just sat there. Eventually, they took all my money.”

Director Choi added, “While we no longer feel the same level of threat to our safety as we once did, children’s emotional resilience has also weakened.”

Lee Min Jung commented on the changing environment that teenagers face today.
There are many CCTV cameras, and parents drop off their children or send them by taxi. However, I think there are cases where they easily become overwhelmed by all things, which is another problem.

She also shared her realistic concerns about parenting and the changes of adolescence, and delved into an in-depth conversation about the anxiety and responsibility she feels as a parent.
