BLACKPINK’s Rosé Exposes Her Crazy Methods To Avoid “Dispatch” Outside Ex-Boyfriend’s House
BLACKPINK’s Rosé recently opened up about the extreme lengths she went to avoid being photographed while seeing her ex-boyfriend. Fans were shocked and entertained as she detailed her “granny disguise” phase, which lasted for months.
Rosé explained that she became so paranoid about being seen that she ordered wigs and outfits online, studying how elderly women dressed in Korea.
Interviewer: How have you avoided getting your picture taken with a man and paparazzi and all that?
Rosé: Oh my gosh. I’ve had some crazy ones. I once was so paranoid… I was like, I can never be seen, ever. And I ordered online from — it’s basically like Amazon, but in Korea.
Interviewer: Are you going to tell me you got a wig?
Rosé: I got a wig. A black curly wig, like a short one. And then I studied how older people—like elderly women—would dress on the street. I’d be like, Okay, they wear that kind of skirt, those shoes, that kind of bag. I would study it, order it, and then dress up.

She then explained that, because she and her ex-boyfriend could not be seen together anywhere, she would travel to his house in disguise. Dispatch is notorious for often catching Korean entertainment couples meeting outside each other’s homes.

It seems like Rosé found methods to avoid getting photographed in similar ways.
Interviewer: And then you would go on a date looking like an older woman?
Rosé: I would go to his house like that, because we couldn’t go anywhere. I traveled that way just in case somebody saw me.

The BLACKPINK Star revealed that she did this so much and so often, she ended up with a section of granny clothes at her house.
So, for a while, at my house — we got rid of it now — but I had a whole section just for grandma clothes because I went wild. I ordered all these light blue, flowery long skirts so I could cover… all my elements.

It seems like both Rosé and her then-boyfriend were committed to the bit, because the star claimed he also dressed up “grandpa-ish” when visiting her.
Interviewer: Did he ever dress up like a grandpa to go to your house?
Rosé: I think he kind of did, yeah, like a little more grandpa-ish, but not as crazy as a wig, because I needed a wig. And at one point, I even imitated how they would walk.
