“I Thought Yoongi Was Dead” — BTS Fan’s Hilarious Misunderstanding Goes Viral

It’s a mistake anyone could have made…right?

There are two kinds of K-Pop fans; fans who start stanning a group as soon as that group debuts (or earlier), and fans who join the fandom later on. ARMYs who became fans of BTS in recent years have a lot to catch up on, and sometimes that can get a little…confusing.

In November of 2020, BTS released BE, their first self-directed album, with hit songs such as “Life Goes On” and “Dynamite”. During some of BE‘s promotions in late 2020 and early 2021, Suga was absent because he was recovering from shoulder surgery. So, Suga’s members brought photos of Suga to include him in these promotions.

They even used a hologram of Suga to include him in their performance at the 2020 MAMA Awards.

This led one BE era ARMY to believe that Suga had passed away!

On January 28, a screenshot of this tweet blew up on X (Twitter), with some ARMYs revealing their own funny misunderstandings in the comments.

Thankfully, Suga is very much alive and thriving! BTS will be releasing a new album featuring all seven member this year. Check out the details here:
