BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is officially returning to the small screen as the female lead in an upcoming K-Drama, but early reactions suggest her acting is once again facing heavy scrutiny.
Jisoo will star as Seo Mi Rae in Netflix’s Boyfriend On Demand, opposite popular actor Seo In Guk.
The K-Drama centers on Mi Rae, an overworked webtoon producer whose demanding schedule has left her with almost no dating life. Feeling emotionally drained and lonely, she stumbles upon a subscription-based virtual dating simulation called “Monthly Boyfriend,” which allows users to enter a virtual world filled with idealized romantic partners.
However, her real life remains complicated. Park Gyeong Nam is her colleague and rival at work — a skilled and respected webtoon producer with a cold exterior and hidden sides that gradually stir emotions in Mi Rae.
