Popular Actor’s Show Canceled Five Minutes Before Starting, Sparks Major Fury
On February 10, the production team for the musical Life of Pi, featuring actor Park Jung Min, suddenly canceled the show five minutes before it was scheduled to start, sparking major controversy.

The production team stated, “A sudden technical issue with lighting equipment occurred before the 7:30 PM performance. Although we tried to fix it, it was determined that continuing the show would be difficult, so we had no choice but to cancel it.”
Although they apologized, revealing it was due to technical difficulties, the audience was still not happy.
They added, “During the final inspection, the lighting failed due to an unknown issue. For safety reasons, we have decided to cancel it. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to the audience who took the time to come watch.”
They also notified those who purchased tickets that they would be individually notified through text regarding the refund process.
However, the announcement of the 110% refund sparked even more dissatisfaction from the audience. Some had traveled from all over the country to see Park Jung Min, while others used vacation days, adding to the disappointment.
Audience member A stated, “They were so strict when it came to booking and posting refund policies, but when they caused a problem, they said they couldn’t offer anything other than a 100% refund.”
Netizens felt they should’ve been refunded more, taking into consideration the time and money it took to come to the show.

- “Aside from the refund, canceling a show five minutes before starting is so frustrating.”
- “So are they saying that the purchaser’s time is not valuable?”
- “Five minutes before? Are you kidding me?”
- “Feel bad for the actor whose name is featured for this show.”
- “They need to refund at least 30% more…”
- “If it’s five minutes before, everyone would’ve already arrived…they need to refund 200% back.”
