Actor Yeo Jin Goo, who was recruited into the KATUSA last year and enlisted, has naturally departed from the cast, raising interest in whether there will be any changes among the existing cast members.
TVING has confirmed the production of Great Escape: The Story Season 2, and it is expected that Lee Woo Hyung PD, the main director of Season 1 of Great Escape: The Story, will continue to direct. At that time, Kang Ho Dong, Kim Dong Hyun, Yoo Byung Jae, Go Kyung Pyo, Baekhyun, and Yeo Jin Goo were active participants, but it is known that discussions are ongoing regarding the participation of the other celebrities excluding soldier Yeo Jin Goo.

Great Escape is an adventure variety show set on stages that transcend time and space. Season 1 premiered in 2018 to critical acclaim. The realistic portrayal of escape room themes in a variety show format earned praise for director Jung Jong Yeon, known for successfully producing The Genius series. It developed a solid fanbase, continuing through four seasons in just three years.
After director Jung Jong Yeon left CJ ENM, the series was temporarily halted, causing disappointment. However, last July, it was released for the first time on TVING rather than tvN. Ending with Great Escape 4, it returned after an impressive four years under the new format titled Great Escape: The Story, achieving first place in weekly paid subscriber contributions for four consecutive weeks.
