In 2024, it was alleged that former MADEIN’s Gaeun was sexually assaulted by the company’s CEO. When she attempted to leave the group, the CEO allegedly asked that she be his “one-day girlfriend,” forcibly touching and kissing her.

She was later announced to no longer be a member of the group shortly after, with additional allegations involving another member being assaulted by the CEO rising.

On May 14, it was announced that member Sunhye would go on hiatus due to “personal reasons,” leaving the group promoting as five. Their comeback was announced for August 2025, but it turned out to be the debut of a new unit called MADEIN S, featuring the four Japanese members of the group.

Questions arose about Sunhye and Yeseo‘s future with the group, and in December 2025, it was reported that the two members were in discussions to depart. However, the company addressed the concerns, stating that the two had suspended their activities and that MADEIN would promote as four for the time being.

Recently, 143 Entertainment updated its website, including photos of its groups, iKON and MADEIN. The update for MADEIN depicts the current four-member line-up, rather than using an older photo of the six members, as other companies have done, with members who were not active during the group’s most recent activities.

Some have questioned the company’s motives, demanding an explanation or official departure notice.

MADEIN recently returned with a single album, Girl Meets Boy.
