Aside from her outstanding talent, Jihyo has often drawn attention for her gorgeous visuals, including her proportions, which are often described as healthy. Jihyo has shown her workout routines on multiple occasions, revealing impressive strength.

The idol’s physique recently sparked debate after she was praised for her visuals at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last year. The idol wore lingerie from the brand while the group performed, showing off her curves and post praised her for looking “different” during the “skinny epidemic” in K-Pop.

Many chimed in on the viral post, questioning why Jihyo would not be considered skinny, when she is.

The debate went further, remarking that current beauty standards, including “2000s skinny” have warped perception of body image, leading to Jihyo’s healthy appearance, including her larger chest, to be considered “not skinny.”

Even outside of K-Pop, a resurgence in “2000s skinny,” an era known for celebrities extreme thinness, has been a topic of discussion. During that era, any celebrity not considered “skinny” was criticized for their weight, even called fat more often than not.

Additionally, many wished that Jihyo would not be used to shame others, especially as someone who was previously body shamed.
