In 2024, Noa joined W.Double V, a J-Pop girl group that formed in November 2017 and restarted their activities in July 2018 under Mint Music ENTERTAINMENT. On March 19, the agency released a statement amid rumors that Noa is dating a fan.

Some netizens criticized Noa for allegedly dating a fan, while others criticized the man’s appearance.

  • “[The rumor was] true. The man’s face doesn’t matter!!!!!”

  • “If he were handsome, you could kind of accept it—but when someone with this kind of face can connect with an idol, it gives you a strange sense of defeat.”

Isn’t this just a strategy to use AI to create an ugly guy, stir up controversy, and boost attention—so that tons of ‘even I have a chance!’ optimistic fans start popping up?

In their official statement, W.Double V’s management confirmed that Noa had private contact with a fan, violating their rules, but didn’t reveal details about the type of relationship Noa and the fan had. The incident happened while Noa was on hiatus for health issue. During that time, she contacted the fan to seek advice about unspecified personal problems. According to the agency, this behavior is “unacceptable” and breaks fans’ trust. As such, the agency has terminated Noa’s contract and has pledged to improve its support system for the remaining members, such as by introducing external counseling services.

Noa personally apologized to fans and her members for her actions, stating that she deeply regrets the “weakness of heart” that led to this outcome.
