Nana Divulges Her Secret To Weighing Less Than 50kg At 171cm Tall

After School member-turned-actress Nana revealed the secret to maintaining her weight in the 40kg range on the show Please Look After My Refrigerator.

On the 22nd, Nana appeared as a guest on JTBC’s variety program Please Look After My Refrigerator and gave viewers a look inside her fridge.

Looking at her fully stocked fridge, Nana said, “I live alone, but I’m actually not the type to cook. I mostly order delivery. It’s my fridge, but my mother tends to stock up a lot. Since she visits often, she puts food in here and eats it herself,” revealing that her mother claims about 80% ownership despite it being Nana’s fridge.

She especially shared her diet secret for weight management: “I’m minimizing carbohydrates as much as possible. I’m following a low-carb, high-fat diet with about 90% protein. I barely eat rice, wheat, or other carbs.” Nana is known to maintain a weight in the 40kg range despite being 171cm tall.

Related to this, she said, “I eat butter on an empty stomach. If it feels too greasy, I add salt,” drawing attention as she showed the various butters stocked in her fridge. Among them, she highlighted ghee butter: “I’ve heard it helps with blood sugar and weight control while leaving only good fats. I sometimes eat it by the spoonful, and it tastes better than expected. Butter feels less greasy than a spoonful of olive oil on an empty stomach, and it also helps me go to the bathroom regularly,” which surprised many.

However, she added, “I also like my mom’s kimchi stew, pasta, and Chicago-style pizza. I just limit them when managing my weight,” showing that she enjoys eating as well. She said with a shy laugh, “I buy peanut butter and soy milk too, because they say they’re good for health. If it’s healthy, I’m likely to buy it,” then revealed her taste preferences: “I eat everything without discrimination, but I usually don’t eat carrots and prefer radish.

Following this, Nana requested the chefs to prepare “zero-carb, high-fat” dishes for her. She said, “It’s not even low-carb, but zero-carb, high-fat. Please make delicious dishes without carbohydrates,” raising expectations. As a result, Chef Yoon Nam No used plenty of butter, and Chef Park Eun Young took on Western cuisine with Shanghai-style lasagna. Yoon Nam No won the first round, earning his first star from Nana.
