11-Year-Old Girl Group Announces Their Disbandment

Wasuta, short for The World Standard, is a 4-member Japanese girl group with cat concept that was formed by Avex Trax in 2015. They are beloved by both local and international fans and have performed in a total of 11 countries.

On March 27, Wasuta’s members and their management announced their disbandment on the group’s website. The decision came about after lengthy internal discussions about the group’s future. In her statement, leader Hirokawa Nanase recalled joining as a high school freshman and viewing the group as a lifelong commitment that reached its natural close after passing the 10-year mark.

…while Mishina Ruka her love and appreciation for fans, whose support allowed her to have such a long career as a member of Wasuta. All four stressed that the decision was mutual and that they intend to give their all for fans during the remaining time they have. The group’s official disbandment date has yet to be announced, but it will take place sometime this winter.
