The album features 11 tracks of varying genres and double title tracks, “DESPERADO” and “Studio54.

Since its release, fans have dived deep into the possible meanings behind the song lyrics, finding references to his time in BIGBANG, his drug scandal, and more.

Fans have also noted that some of the lyrics seem to reference former member Seungri as well.

In “Ovaya,” T.O.P seems to look back on the earlier part of his career, mentioning the “five of us,” BIGBANG’s original line-up.

All my life, I see it clearly, vividly — I wipe away my tears again
The dazzling yellow light you shone — the five of us were happier then
I bury that endlessly heavy dream in my heart
I’ll decorate it more beautifully — I’m ovaya

— Ovaya lyrics

However, another line has stood out even more, and sparked discussions on possible meaning.

In one of the title tracks, “Studio54,” T.O.P repeats “Dirty sun, dirty sun, they just ruined my soul,” which has been taken by some as a reference to Seungri’s involvement in the Burning Sun scandal. Seungri was previously sentenced to three years, which was later reduced to one year and six months, in prison after being convicted on nine charges tied to the infamous “Burning Sun” scandal, including arranging prostitution, illegal gambling, embezzlement, and violations of foreign exchange law.
