One clip showed a male idol, Shonen Ninja‘s Suzuki Yujin, and a female idol, AKB48’s Suzuki Kurumi, hugging. Suzuki was noticeably wobbly from allegedly drinking alcohol.

Now, weeks later, Kurumi has announced that she will be leaving (“graduating”) from her J-Pop idol girl group on May 15. Kurumi made the announcement, which has also been posted on the group’s website, in person at AKB48’s April 10 concert.

There she apologized to fans, acknowledging the “worry and trouble” she had caused them.

Kurumi joined AKB48 nearly 10 years ago as a 12-year-old trainee (Kenkyuusei). She was officially promoted to a full-time member of AKB48’s subunit Team A in 2017.
