“To fellow citizens, Hello, this is Park Bom. The weather has gotten nice, so I want to tell everyone something. I am writing this, thinking that it is truly the last time. I was a student abroad studying in the U.S. when I came to Korea to become a singer. It’s a bit out of the blue, but please listen.

I am Park Bom, who is in charge of singing. I am a prodigy of singing. Even as a student, I was popular for my singing, and after coming to Korea, I auditioned countless times. After failing to make my parents’ dreams come true as an international student, I came to Korea with the determination and stayed for three years, through endless auditions with YG without a promise or deadline.

With my sole determination and judgment to sing and become the best, I came to be in charge of singing in Captain Planet…

The leader CL, Lee Chaerin. She is the god of performance. Her composition, expression, all of it just works! She is a rapper, and I am not her, so I can’t write in detail, but she is a friend who came from France, Tokyo, and Korea. We really gathered from far away, didn’t we?

Lee Chae Rin is a cool person. She does everything wonderfully, and even when she moves her hand, she is cool. You can see her as the one who directs everything and becomes cool. In Captain Planet, she is in charge of ‘perform’.”

“Our youngest, Gong Minzy. She is known as the granddaughter of Gong Ok Jin, who was designated a national treasure of our country. Seeing her from the side, I am so proud of her, maybe because she inherited that blood, she is crazy talented. She is a dance god. It’s amazing, even to me; it’s an amazing story. She is refreshing, hot, spontaneous, and exhilarating. So even when performing, I look at Minszy and laugh because I am so proud. It’s also because people don’t know it yet, but when we go abroad, if we just show them her, they think she’s the best. This is the Gong Minzy from Korea. In Captain Planet, she is in charge of ‘dance’.

Lastly, my Sandara…she is the princess of the Philippines. I’ve been a fan since the beginning… to the point where I watched ‘Human Theater’…I thought her face looked like actress Kang Soo Yeon when she debuted…so pretty. Within the team, she is in charge of harmony and refreshing vocals. She always looks at people with a smiling face.

When she sings with me, it creates a synergy effect. She has a beautiful voice. Everyone works hard, but even though she is the oldest, she braves embarrassment and works hard without caring. I know she does. In Captain Planet, she is in charge of the ‘brain.’ She is clever and acts like a manager.”

“I am watching over each of the members, and to put it simply, I love you all so much. You don’t know how hard it was for me to write this and how much I didn’t want to.

First of all, thank you for raising us, who gathered together with such difficulty. Thank you so much…Since you raised us well, I hope my heart reaches you regarding the group called 2NE1. I am leaving this letter because I desperately want to convey my heart. Actually, I am writing this because I wish the incident about the drug allegations would be treated as if it never happened.

It is such a waste, because the four of us meeting was a miracle, given the big age gap and the unbelievable nature of it…I am writing this letter because I am so thankful that you all raised us so dearly. I love you.”
