One Member’s Departure Puts His Entire Group On Hiatus
The upcoming loss of a member has led his group to announce their hiatus, which will begin after his exit.

UNISON SQUARE GARDEN is a 3-member Japanese rock band under TOY’S FACTORY. They debuted 22 years ago, in 2004, under the name Unison. Now, after more than two decades together, UNISON SQUARE GARDEN is saying farewell to their drummer, Suzuki Takao.

According to the band’s official statement, Takao will be leaving the band after their last performance on July 15, after their performance at Makuhari Messe, in Chiba, Japan. As a result, the band will subsequently cease activities under its current lineup and go on hiatus. The group apologized for the suddenness of the announcement.

According to vocalist and guitarist Saito Kosuke, the decision comes after bassist Tabuchi Tomoya and Suzuki began to move in different directions; Tabuchi was committed to the group’s ideals, while Suzuki’s artistry became more individualistic over time.
