Woman Sentenced By Court For Writing Gay Stray Kids Fanfiction
Russian photographer Alexandra Kuzyk has been sentenced to 18 months of compulsory labor after she was charged with producing illegal pornography for writing gay fanfiction about Stray Kids.

The case began when a woman reported to police that she had found the story written by Alexandra on her underage daughter’s device. The fanfiction, posted online in 2022, depicted a same-sex relationship. LGBT health organization Parni+ later confirmed that it was a Stray Kids fanfiction.

Kuzyk admitted guilt in full and told the court that writing fanfiction had been a long-time hobby. Prosecutors had pushed for a four-year prison sentence, but she got 18 months of compulsory labor instead, with the state withholding 10% of her earnings.
Russia expanded its ban on LGBT “propaganda” in 2022, and enforcement has only grown since. Authorities have blocked websites that host amateur fiction. Last year, MangaLIB — the biggest Russian-language manga platform — was fined roughly €160,000 for “LGBT propaganda”, and one of its managers was hit with an additional €13,700 fine.
